Dr. Zoltan Varga
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Zoltan Varga is the Chief Medical Officer at Apex Health, leading the organization’s medical and clinical strategy across seven hospitals in four countries. With over 35 years of experience spanning the USA, Europe, the UK, and Australasia, he brings deep expertise in healthcare operations, M&A, PPP contracts, health insurance, and policy development.
Passionate about optimizing patient care, Dr. Varga has spearheaded initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, reduce risks, and streamline healthcare delivery while ensuring regulatory compliance. Before joining Apex Health, he served as Group COO and CMO at Aspen Healthcare, overseeing a network of eight hospitals in the UK. He has also managed major tertiary hospitals and held the role of Permanent Secretary of Health in Hungary.
Dr. Varga holds an MBA and a Master’s in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota, along with diplomas in Public Administration (France) and Industrial Health (New Zealand). A Semmelweis University graduate, he has held key advisory roles, including with the UK’s CSSD and the Jersey Government’s Risk and Audit Board.
